A Lil Hashtag Update ft. My Fav Style Bar outfits

Hello friends! It’s been a while since we’ve had a blog post, but we are back and ready to be consistent heading into the fall! And what better way than to kick it off with some social media updates and a fall wardrobe refresh?

Did you know that hashtags should go in your captions instead of the comments now?!

This was announced only a few weeks ago, so if you’ve been putting hashtags in your comment section for a while don’t be alarmed!

And when it comes to hashtags, here are a few tips (especially for influencers and businesses):

1. Use location specific hashtags so locals/businesses can find you

2. Using 3-5 hashtags per post is usually the best

This is a SUPER recent change! One week ago, Instagram suggested 8-15, now they are suggesting 3-5.

3. Focus mostly on small/medium hashtags (10k – 800k hits)

You’ll have a better chance of showing up on the top there. Don’t completely disregard hashtags with millions of hits, but only use 1 of them per post if you’re going to use them.
